A Waiting Rapture

And you ask me when I shall return to you!  How can the wave decide the sea’s own hour? My inner is not my own; it leans toward God, A reed bent singing in His lurking power. I’ll come when rain remembers how to fall, When ponds bloom with moving breaths of gold, And shore-birds praise the zephyr till fear turns small, When storms forget the sidewalks they controlled. Be patient, sweet; waiting is a better prayer; The seed knows sullen before it learns the sun. I do walk where the rapture holds me unaware— And a moth still circling till the glow is won. When Love permits, we’ll draw life’s boat as one, And dearest find we met before the world begun. ---Affaq  #Sonnets #ForeverSonnets #PoetAffaq #SonnetsOfAffaq #MysticPoetry #Rapture

A Musician & Goatherd

Image
And a musician sang aloud in a narrow vale, His drum’s wild voice exceeded earth’s consent. A goatherd passed and said, with tempered tale: “Lower your tune; the sky is noise-bent, spent.” The musician arched his brow in proud disdain: “Go tend your goats, rough man, disturb me not.” The words struck fire within the shepherd’s vein; His calm turned flame, his silence turned to thought. “Know this,” he said, “two prophets herded sheep, And loved their lambs in a pasture steep and wide. Why did God choose a shepherd’s path to keep, Not bookish tongues nor songs with swelling pride? God sees beyond the world the senses scan.” The drum fell mute; the singer bowed to Man, No, bowed to God, beyond the mortal plan. -----Affaq N Affaq  #Sonnets #ForeverSonnets

A Cradle

Image
Sleep, little heart; the night seals every door And cups the world within its velvet hush; The Luna forgets her age, leans low once more, To hear your breath undo the stars’ old rush. I gather dreams where olive shadows kneel, Where seas rehearse their youth in whispered blue; Your pulse becomes the law the heavens feel, Your eyes, two lamps the dark is passing through. All wandering things grow still around your rest, Even time unbinds his sandals, slow and kind; Love folds the world like bread against my chest, And feeds my fear into your sleeping mind. Sleep, gold and ruby crown your kind head; My kiss shall guard you till the dawn is wed. ------Poet Affaq  #Sonnet #ForeverSonnets #SonnetPoetry #PoetAffaq Enjoy this sweet lyric below  Spring of Beauty

Lips & Quills

Image
God’s Name is sugar melting on his tongue, But behold—his hand pours ash into evil game; He sings the Truth like songs forever sung, While deep within, his heart forgets the Name. His body stands where public prayers are said, But soul-ward slips to taste the secret vine; He scolds the clock, calls Time a thief instead, Lest hidden grapes should ripen past their time. He lifts the veil, then weaves another one, Stripping the gold to leave a hollowed space; He sits in broad light, appearing like a revered sun, An age-made saint in borrowed robes of grace. O friend, this isn’t faith—this is disguise; The Beloved sees through lips and into eyes. ----Affaq N Affaq  #Sonnets #ForeverSonnets #PoetAffaq

A Stranger Am I

Image
From all I stand apart; ask not the why ?; The heart itself has chosen this release. Shall some breast house my grief; it wanders by, A reed cut loose, compelled to sing its peace. My heart was clean, and once I held it whole; Too much I trusted what so soon shall ring, Heart's a bird that seeks where joys console, Then leaves the branch as sorrow starts to sing. A stranger am I, in this vast domain, A city spun from dust and borrowed breath. I walked wide-open; who was there to chain This door, that let the winds rehearse my death? If once I vowed, forgive me when I’m gone; Send not my mail to earth, but where souls dawn. --Affaq N Affaq  #Sonnets #ForeverSonnets #MysticPoetry #PoemHunter

Moon or Mage

Image
From heart’s reservoir to trembling lips it nears, A ballad unnamed, but yet bonnie as spring air; The face unseen, what wandering spirit appears To bind my heart and leave my soul laid bare? From meeting gazes, where old penumbras lie, A whisper wakes—O speak, you sealed visage! What secrets stir beneath your beauty’s tie, To steal my repose or bless my passing age? Is Moon or mage the weaver of this charm That melts the stars who keep their watch above? Your glance has turned each rustic spirit warm, And made the blue vault testify our love. Tonight the orbits in hushed enchantment shine, While you, strange heart, dwell in all my time. -----Poet Affaq  #Sonnets #ForeverSonnets

Anatomy of a lie

Image
Ring me not forth to justify my blame; Your cruelty has crept upon my breast, And from your sighing eyes there leapt a flame That rend my soul, how could I lay at rest. Speak, tell your legend with a truthful tongue; Use wit, but slay me not with veiled disguise. Who in your proud, egoistic heart is hung? Reveal the shade that haunts your midnight eyes. Your cozening looks have long been foes to me, For none but I have glimpsed their covert art; And if your pulse beats sincere in love for me, Why still deny the knowledge in your heart? I stand near God—O damsel, now be mine; Whisper the tumult of your love's design. ----Affaq

Oath of Flame

Image
An Oath of Treaty stands, an Oath of Flame, Through both the trembling heart would dare to go; For every vein is forged in pangs of shame, Still seeks peace—so still it yearns to slow. The heart—so small, but bears an Ocean vast, Here Longing’s tides in storm labour rise; Life’s lamp burns brief, while toil and dream hold fast, And Time enthrones itself before our eyes. In midnight realms these brooding visions stream, A shoreless Sea wherein barren phantoms glide; Some are bound by Oaths that rule the dream, And some by Death’s chilly whisper terrified. When Time’s iron shadow steals our breath, We yield the dream, to shield the Oath from death. ----Affaq  #Foreversonnets #LyricalSonnets #SonnetPoetry  #PoetAffaq

The Wounded Breast

Image
From lover’s wounded breast the plague is born, As when the cherished fragrance meets us not, There be a river of lament, from eve to morn Runs wild, till reason’s lamp burns cold and fraught. Love’s early beam, is a beam in beginning,  Than unfolds to a thousand longings  Some ripens into fruit of blossoming, But most like clouds in hot sky dying,  And if avarice a brittle twig at first it seems— Grows soon like a thicket choked with seed; Upon harvesting to greedy one it heals,  The other remains in melancholy with lips sealed  Thus passion’s ship leaves the mystic sea, Or sinks in storms before the coast can be. ---Affaq  #TheWoundedBreast  #Foreversonnets  #PoetAffaq

The Himmed Ground

Image
In Silent Rain ,.....Lyrical sonnet Edited by Poet Affaq / Subscribe to my YouTube channel The graveyard now is held with iron strong, Its gate a guard of iron, marble marking all; Each name is carved, each life made long By stone that tells where fathers rise and fall. But oh, the olden ground I knew in my youth, Where tall chinars kept watch in solemn air— Narcissus' breaths crafted hamlet side smooth, Stars that crowned each moss-soft resting there. I saw Romanies stay in corners with their birds, The season harvesting, and by the fire at night Their airy fairy tales, half-forgotten words, Glowed warm as embers in the waning light. In autumn days, gold maple leaves did pour A rustling music around—gone, alas, no more. ----Affaq  #LyricalSonnets #PoetAffaq

Walkways of Yesterday

Image
How pleasing were those lost days of ancient past, The walkways, by windowpane he read The throne verse at dawn’s first glimmer cast; Ecstasy through waking fields was  spread. Eternity’s own music filled the happy air, His voice entwined with cuckoo’s early song; The scene grew lovelier, gentler, calm, and fair, As if the hours themselves would linger long. And in the vesper’s arrival, the angels near Bent low to send their blessings from above. That era now lies faint, faded and unclear— The cuckoo dust, the voice, the home of love. Still those echoes through the shadows glide, A whispered festival once lived inside. ------Affaq N.Affaq

Darling on the Necklace Tree

Image
O darling of the pink necklace-tree, Whose trembling soul breaks forth in tuneful cries, You pourest to the wandering winds of sea The secret pulse that in your bosom lies. Praise to the Power who shaped us wing’d and free. Oh, upon the willow-bough I hail to stay, To sing for whose voice through waters leap, Commanding the sun to wake the flowers of May. “Speed on,” the bird sings: for the breeze” For in your path the northern waters play, All their ancient glories kiss your way to seas— And I feed on simple grain within the dale— But you, whose music moves the spheres above, Do keep me singing here in awe and love. ----Affaq N.Affaq  #Sonnets #foreversonnets

Times Call

Image
Blessed were those who fled this mortal strife,  And saw not Man enslaved by rich’s paws  Whose skirts were spared from sin’s devouring knife,  Nor bowed to tyrants ruling over with selfish laws Industries rise over night thru wicked wafts  Binding the meek in chains of luxurious lies;  They preach of justice, feasts, and using grafts  Binding in satanic knots where spirit dies. But lo! the Sun ascends through clouded air,  Heaven commands: “Awake, O light, and rise!”  Still hymns of tender hearts go in mourning air  The flame that mocks the empire of disguise. Though vulgar Age proclaims humanity’s fall,  The Eternal voice yet sings — and conquers all. ----Affaq N Affaq  #Sonnets #LyricalPoetry #AffaqArtist

On Jamaican Bay

Image
On Jamaican Bay  The ire, like fire, in mortal hearts is bred, And like a hawk he swooped with wrath to claim; Her single slip of tongue stirred sudden dread, A tiny fault that rose to thunder’s flame. A creature small, yet loud as oceans roar, She cried, though tears like pearls adorned her face; For anger flares, then cools, as waters pour, And laughter soft may banish all disgrace. A flower famed for smiles she bloomed again, Disdaining bitterness that storms impart; She waited long till vesper graced the plain Of Jamaican bays, with calmness in her heart. She whispered forth her plea in timid air— None sorrowed then—all rejoiced to see her fair. ----- Affaq   #SonnetPoetry #LyricalPoetry

A Call To The Heaven

Image
In Eden’s spring, the first sweet life began, Fair beauty flourish, and sadness knew no name; The Lord adorned the newborn soul of man, With murmuring rivers and flowers set aflame. The vine did creep and mellowed sunlight played, While breezes sang along the singing stream, And lambs reposed beneath the myrtle shade Of perpetual peace and love’s immortal dream. But then man, forgetful of that hallow’d place, The seas now mourn, the air no longer pure, With pride and deceit defaced the Maker’s grace; Imagine, the heart’s deceit no angel may endure. Through dawn’s fresh promise  His voice is near, “Awake, and return, My eden  bloometh here.” -----Affaq  Still I am young

Mother and the Fallen World

Image
When doubt’s spectres throng the waking mind, Phantoms mock the vows that hope once made, The State, by its own dark devices blind, Lies mute—its mercy with its glory fade. Ah, pity! you can't not assuage the breath Of anguish, while fierce dragons scour the plain, And ravens croak over realms beguiled by death— Cold are the hearts that feel neither joy nor pain. Turn, O my soul, where purest fountains be, To her whose breast defies the storms of strife— A spirit mild, whose love outsoars decree, Shields the seed of ever-blossoming life. They grasp and grind; yet she, with hands more fair, Gives all—and asks but love for love’s repair. -----Affaq N Affaq  #PoetAffaq #ArtistAffaq #AffaqPoetry #SonnetsOfAffaq #ForeverSonnets #TheBardsBench #SonnetsOfAffaq #PearlyDewsOfMorning #PoetryLovers #PoetsOfInstagram #Sonnets #PoeticWords #WordsMatter #PoetryCommunity #AuthorAffaq #AffaqWriter #PoetWriter

Your boundless coffee

Image
I seek your love, unmatched in earth or air, And your manifesting beam within me lies; My life long parched crave that tender share, Through your largesse my fainting breath replies. One single glance can set my weary eyes, Or bend the fickle goddess of my pathetic fate; Reimagine days, from tarnished to the wise, Words fail to thank you for a mercy, great. I thirst for extremes of love, though ill begun; I do hope for more, but deem myself untrue; Receive my petition—whatsoever be done, Your boundless coffee shall both give and strew. And If mercy be your coin, Oh, then let it fall; Remain my all, my everlasting, my all in all. ----Affaq N Affaq  #AffaqPoetry #SonnetsOfAffaq #ForeverSonnets #TheBardsBench #SonnetsOfAffaq #PearlyDewsOfMorning #PoetryLovers #PoetsOfInstagram #Sonnets #PoeticWords #WordsMatter #PoetryCommunity #AuthorAffaq #AffaqWriter #PoetWriter #WordsByAffaq #AffaqOnYouTube #AffaqOnInstagram #AffaqOnPinterest  #MorningInspiration "Pearly Dews of M...

Lament of Separation

Image
When sky do weep, each tear a separate woe, How shall my heart from dearest friend be torn? The breeze’s lament, in sighs that sadly blow; How snatch my hand from warmth it hath worn? Lo, the heaven grieves, and fiery bolts do fall From winged steeds, breathing smoke and dread; How may I then from those who love me call My spirit forth, where true-born faith is bred? And the feathered chorister on broken spray Wails alone; how to leave my friend in dust? The bloom, forlorn, her perfume stolen away By fumes she made for joy, now foul, unjust. When tender infants in ruin parch and pine, How can I drink sweet sips and call them mine? ----Affaq N Affaq  #AffaqPoetry #SonnetsOfAffaq #ForeverSonnets #TheBardsBench #SonnetsOfAffaq #PearlyDewsOfMorning #PoetryLovers #PoetsOfInstagram #Sonnets #PoeticWords #WordsMatter #PoetryCommunity #AuthorAffaq #AffaqWriter #PoetWriter #WordsByAffaq #AffaqOnYouTube #AffaqOnInstagram #AffaqOnPinterest  #MorningInspiration "Pearly Dews of...

The Coming Storm

Image
And soon, the vast welkin , by clouds is rent, And fast-flung winds, a harbinger of dread, Across the firmament their fury lent, As the thunder's mighty orison is said. O Love, haste hence to where the northway flows, To stand against tempest, the most piteous fray, For all our hopes, the year-long labour shows, Shall be undone before yet the light of day. Behold, those clouds, in a funereal veil, With eyes of fire, their dire intent declare, To crush our olives, fragile, faint, and frail, And shatter dreams of castles in the air. So seize the axe, and with your swift accord, Wage war, my love, against fate's own direful hoard . --Affaq N Affaq  PoetAffaq #ArtistAffaq #AffaqPoetry #SonnetsOfAffaq #ForeverSonnets #TheBardsBench #SonnetsOfAffaq #PearlyDewsOfMorning #PoetryLovers #PoetsOfInstagram #Sonnets #PoeticWords #WordsMatter #PoetryCommunity #AuthorAffaq #AffaqWriter #PoetWriter #WordsByAffaq #AffaqOnYouTube #AffaqOnInstagram #AffaqOnPinterest  #...

A Memory Reclaimed

Image
O memory, didn't my soul command to pursue  The hour youth was crowned with jocund cheer? When on my brow there bloomed a passion new, And vow’s bright torch illumined the budding year. We chased the kites upon the windswept plain, Their gaudy wings did mock the vault on high; While piping reeds gave forth a pastoral strain, And time stood still beneath the summer sky. Lo! on the hills the sighing tempests spoke, Still we, unbowed, did seek the shepherd’s fold; And when the viol through the silence broke, Its trembling voice was richer than pure gold. Though feasts be fled, and rustic songs decay, Their echoes live and haunt my soul today. ----Affaq  PoetAffaq #ArtistAffaq #AffaqPoetry #SonnetsOfAffaq #ForeverSonnets #TheBardsBench #SonnetsOfAffaq #PearlyDewsOfMorning #PoetryLovers #PoetsOfInstagram #Sonnets #PoeticWords #WordsMatter #PoetryCommunity #AuthorAffaq #AffaqWriter #PoetWriter #WordsByAffaq #AffaqOnYouTube #AffaqOnInstagram #AffaqOnPinterest  #Morni...

#Echoes of a Longing

Image
And the traveler flew to the summer seas, From saddened fields before the sunrise leap. The songbird chased after the tearful breeze, Mournful rustling leaves displayed their grief. The war-birds rumble in the troubled air, And fawns to stable thickets swiftly went, As atrocities in the willow grove led to despair, Shallow cove doesn't see bustle but lament. Not swans dance the teal-kissed water knew, The very springs, once leaping, were now dry. Fairest things of past years long for their hue, Stunning delight did in deep sorrow die. When shall Rose and nightingale once more? Bring back the joy that they miss and adore. ---- Affaq   PoetryLovers #PoetsOfInstagram #Sonnets #PoeticWords #WordsMatter #PoetryCommunity #AuthorAffaq #AffaqWriter #PoetWriter #WordsByAffaq #AffaqOnYouTube #AffaqOnInstagram #AffaqOnPinterest  #MorningInspiration "Pearly Dews of Morning" #PoetryOfTheDay #SonnetsOfTheDay

#Lines About Snow

Image
Listen this lyrical Sonnet  Available on Facebook/ Instragram & YouTube also click here✓    Shuttered Dreams Behold, lily-white globules, bright they are, Soft pathways woven, a couch of powder deep. Larks humming in the air, sweet as a star, Penguins feast, as they from frozen waters creep. Celestial care on Earth’s rough fields did shine, Snow fell to cleanse the world as sweet as dew. A longing stirred amidst these flakes divine; Sylphs in their Ice Queen’s robe drank brew. The winter’s chill, a sacred, spectral scene, My eyes beheld the visions cold and yet fair. A zeal was born, unearthly, sharp, and keen, That shaped crystal forms the frosty air. Until the owl intoned a prophet’s word, And witches’ joy dissolved, their song unheard. ----Poet Affaq  PoetAffaq #ArtistAffaq #AffaqPoetry #SonnetsOfAffaq #ForeverSonnets #TheBardsBench #SonnetsOfAffaq #PearlyDewsOfMorning #PoetryLovers #PoetsOfInstagram #Sonnets #PoeticWords #WordsMatter #PoetryCommun...

#The Tyrant in Golden Fields

Image
Bang! Bang! the thunders rend the voiceless air, The famished beast leaps forth with burning eyes; The budding rose turns pale in sudden glare, And flocks take wing beneath the darkened skies. Through golden grain he storms with iron tread, The peasant’s dream lies broken in the clay; By candle’s flame lone mothers earn their bread, While tyrant builds his throne of ash and clay. He stalks the wounded fields with chilling guile, And spares the infant’s brow, yet not from grace; On holy graves he plants his flags of vile, And mocks the starry charter of our race. Bang! Bang! the trumpets sound, the heavens flame— The Seraphs rise to judge his iron name. --Affaq  #ArtistAffaq  #SonnetsOfAffaq #ForeverSonnets #TheBardsBench  PearlyDewsOfMorning #PoetryLovers #PoetsOfInstagram #Sonnets #PoeticWords #WordsMatter #PoetryCommunity #AuthorAffaq #AffaqWriter #PoetWriter #WordsByAffaq #AffaqOnYouTube #AffaqOnInstagram #AffaqOnPinterest Sonnet Song Compiled by Poet Affaq...

Dedicated to children of Gaza The Lord, who gave to man the Eden’s ground, Bestowed the rose, the vine, the river’s song; The Nile in majesty through plains did bound, Its breezy shores to Moses did belong. Even so, human folly stained that hallowed shore, A canvas once of grace, now marred by strife; The divine gifts we cherish nevermore, For greed and pride consumed the breath of life. We poured our poison in the swelling sea, And fouled the lease of paradise bestowed; By avarice enslaved, we bent the knee, And broke the covenant our Maker owed. Thus hearts, like seas, in vice are overthrown: Mercy, we stand on barren ground alone. #PoetAffaq #AffaqPoetry #SonnetsOfAffaq #ForeverSonnets #TheBardsBench #SonnetsOfAffaq #PearlyDewsOfMorning -----Poet Affaq

In The City Of Pears .....Enjoy this number Lyrics poet Affaq / Music by Florance In early morning I saw you fairy’s hue, A vision dancing in the golden dew; Such beauties grace the world but with a few, Though trouble came, still I stood with you. Ah—-- love, it changes, shifting like the moon, It blooms as weeds, then withers all too fast; But if fate grants a gentle April soon, Our youth’s glowing fire may glow at last. In City of Pearls, perchance we meet again, If Heaven takes some pity on these curls; Then shall our hearts burn stronger than our pain, And two worlds prosper, mingled in their whirls. Wandering aimless only breeds the sorrow; We know not what may come with new tomorrow. ---Poet Affaq  #InTheCityOfPearls #Sonnet #PoetAffaq #Foreversonnet #EnglishSonnet #AffaqNabi

Lo, the summer when inmocence did soar, When first we met by Alves’ tidal stream; Stars leapt forth, and heaven’s arches wore A raiment of flame, illumined by a dream. The Luna did pour her silver on the glade, While zephyr’s thru solemn boughs sighed; Our fates twined, no earthly energy could fade, Beneath the ancient Oak where love did hide. Time’s vast wheel rolls on with tireless might, And worlds decay, still bonds of soul remain; Thru darkling storms we walk by hidden light, Thru restraint and loyalty, thru pleasure and pain. So still we move where past and future meet, In vision’s flame, memory burns ever sweet. ----Poet Affaq  #Sonnets #MysticPoetry #Lyrics #Poetry

Tears of heaven

Image
From Heaven’s great urn—I pour a liquid grace, To quench the fevered earth’s profoundest thirst! My surge compels the swelling seas embrace, And streams are born round courses singing first. They sing their changeless hymn—I am the mirth Of fruitful bough, of every flower that blows; Showers, the breezes proclaim, before my birth, Are but men’s dreams when bitter winter snows. And in men’s prayers—when I descend to prove, A covenant arch, a sacred sign, am I: A promise of return!—a holy love, That warms all life beneath the weeping sky. A new light dawns, where splendor shines in bliss— Doubt not the tears… that God Himself would kiss: ---- Affaq   #Sonnetpoetry #Poemhunter #PealyDewsOfMornibg  #Lyrics

Winding Ways

Image
My soul, a compass, turns on winding ways, While tears, like ink from some sad quill, do fall. This heart, a floating ship for fleeting days, Must leap through time, or pine within its thrall. The sun's swift course, a lover's ardent pace, A moment’s kiss, a breath, a burning grace. Come, seize this instant, before its light erases The very memory of this warm embrace. Our love, a flame that mortal storm would quell, Is forged in passion's fierce and sudden heat. Kiss lips still warm; let this sweet moment swell, Before life's transient pulse admits defeat. So stay, my love; let not this swift time be A river flowing swiftly from the eternity. ----- Affaq #SonnetPoetry #EnglishPoetry

Nature My Muse

Image
Nature, my muse, has tutored me to tend Echoing greens, without which life is hard; To tell the bird the garden's joys, my friend, And mend his mournful song, O, humble bard. I mark the flower that holds her scent so back, For joy in the world springs from a subtle scent; Nature bids me sit upon the stream's cool track, To whisper music that the still waters lent. For you are named by God, their custodian, And make you, too, a solace for the hand That toils in fields from morn to eve, though rain Should threaten thirst and hunger in the land. This verdant peace, found in the echoing green, Eases my mental strain, a balm between. ----- Affaq

O heart, shall you abide where spires ascend, And metal chimeras on smooth pathways glide? Where luxury's soft embrace seems without end, And every whim, beneath the azure sky, is plied? Ah, where folks pursue their egocentric gain, Not the heart, but cunning thought contains sway, Where Innocence sheds melancholic rain, While hunger’s gnawing pangs consume the day. Where human discord, senseless, wakes and rends, And wanton boys their ruthless dominion keep. This city, heart, where vagrants' sorrow wends, And silent burdens, in anguish, softly seep. Then walk with care where gilded streets extend, For here, dear Heart, your solace you must tend. ------ Affaq #Poetry #Sonnets #Orogress #Poemhunter

From conflict's agony, young spectres softly keen, Their tender plaints, across epochs' heartstrings rent, "What sins are ours?" their fading gaze unseen, By sorrow's flood, their promised joys are spent. For mammon's greed, a game of ruthless sway, Their blossoms torn by engines' fiery breath, Their starry hopes, now cloaked in dim dismay, Their birthright sold, on thorny beds of death. What reason finds, in eyes that well and weep? Those roseate lids, wherein gentle slumber flees, Once radiant as dawn, now gloams swiftly creep, For meagre crumbs they sigh, for sweet release. Haste, then, oh haste! let righteous thunder roll, Mend this wrong, ere vengeance takes its toll. ----- Affaq  #ClassicPoetry #Sonnets

When flowers smile

When flowers smile  It’s spring, The season of bloom. I get rid of My gloomy garb And salty tears. I get out, A dazzling glaze  No more Incognito. Love's might transcends all wealth and worldly fame, Over chariots, banners held with unwavering eye, Over stately homes and castles built on claim; All are but husks if love should pass us by. No doctor's art can soothe love's piercing pain, A tender wound no words can quite convey. Beyond passing whim, love's enduring reign Commands the heart and leads it where it may. Over rivers deep, where lovers' fortunes lie, Teach the babes of love's soft, tender art, That they may grow, with love their guiding sky, Enfold what's most dear, what wealth cannot impart. If any tale of melancholy can be told, This is love's own story, wondrous and yet old. -----Affaq

Taper's Gaze

Image
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 Neither I make a suit, nor I offer a plea,  But ask you pause, for tumult grips my soul. Life's journey we embark, for our spree  In which radiance and shade twin narratives unroll. I've marked the tapers, fortunes on the wane, And witnessed others, opulently bright. My spirit's core, with grace I now explain, No trepidation dims our facing light,  No grievance harbor I, no suit declare, Still shared ambition, fragile, starts to decay. Does fleeting mirth then tear our souls apart? Is this the custom, sorrow's bitter sway? Ah, pace with me, though destinies obscure, Let love's tender promise, transient, yet endure. -- Poet Affaq

My muse, your beauty shines like summer's rose, No painted mask, but truth upon your face. Your golden curls, like sunbeams or like those, A halo round your shoulders, lady of mixed race. You are a Helen, though of different creed, She was public beauty, known to every eye, Not a pagan queen, but whose heart can bleed For those who suffer, and whose spirit's high. She ruled a kingdom, sky-high and wide; No artful paints adorn your cheek so fair; You toil with honest hands, with naught to hide, In every way, you are lovelier than Helen, I declare. My love for you ignites with purer flame, Than any passion the world could claim. ----- Affaq

Image
What words can serve, when clear to your eye, That this poor world in sin's dim pall abides? No soul attends the plaintive, whispered cry, But gazes where consuming suffering presides. The system's fetters, by brute force upheld, Goodness finds scarcely a sanctuary's grace; The humble heart, to nobler fate compelled, Is scorned, condemned to silence's icy embrace. They quench pure visions, with their fires arcane, And shatter hope, to expedite their gain. Why further speak? My friend, you know this bitter bane: The truth-tellers, enchained, bereft of light's domain. Their sole transgression: they embrace what's just, While freedom's guerdon masks its obscured trace -----Affaq
