On halcyon days, we stood as doves in glee, Twin hearts thrumbed with love's tender pace. But fate's new turn drew discord's jarring note, The dreams that soared beyond the starry skies. Vanish away, rest remain the unmet hope, Lingering in ashes of our ruined desires. As yet, amidst life's tempests and naked fears, We swallowed grief, unmoved by instant joys.
