Beyond The Stars
When earthly rewards, like the rivers, overflow, And worldly wisdom does the mind engage, The parent's pride, a vibrant, eager show, To fill young minds on life's material stage. This earthly insight, shimmery, sharp and bright Does lift us high, to touch the distant star, Or plumb the ocean's dark and secret light, Not man can fault this quest, however far. Well yet, by its side, a nobler path does lie, The spiritual empire, often scorned, unseen, By which the soul to infinite heights may fly, And master stars, and empires of joy convene.
