Merry's Brief Flight Then Hearts Apart
Behold, peace I bring, no plaint nor suit I make, But pray you rest, for hassle’s does me hold. Love's path we tread, for your coterie’s sake Light and shadow, both their legends unfold. I've seen the candles, fortunes waxing weak, And others bright, in chambers richly lit, My soul’s core, gracious humbly now I speak, Phobia not, dear soul, it was never meant to hit. Neither plaint I have, no petition to impart, But our shared dream, it fades, a brittle thing, Does merry’s brief flight then tear our souls apart? Is this the custom, sorrow's bitter sting?
