Forever Sonnets (Poetry Blog)

Winter Tree Bare stand the branches against the icy sky, Stripped of the leafy robes they used to wear; While winter winds in mournful accents sigh, Leave the leafy deeps desolate and bare. O yet in the silent trunk the life abides, Unchecked by freezing frost or heavy snow; In quiet strength the living sap resides, Awaiting spring to make the flowers glow. So stands psyche when earthly comforts fade, And the winter trials strip its branches bare; Rooted in God, it rests all undismayed, Protected safely within His overseeing care. Knowing that spring shall wake the sleeping earth, And crown the dormant life with joyful birth. ----Affaq N Affaq  #Foreversonnets #PoetAffaq #PoemHunterAffaq #MysticalPoetry #NaturePoems #NurseryPoems #WinterPoems

Heart's Lute  How shall my silent Lute presume to sing, When all its cords are tuned by your own hand? Or strike sweet concord from a widowed string, Which none but you can govern or command? Look how the dark holds back the eager Light, And keeps my longing bosom from your grace; While every pulse that beats within the night Chides the slow hours that hide your constant face. Come then, my Love, and teach these frets to speak, Ere sorrow dull the music we should make, Towards your touch alone the silent seek The sovereign chord that bids the soul awake. Until thy finger play upon my heart, I am, I am but wood and wire apart. ________Poet Affaq #Foreversonnets #PoetAffaq #MysticPoetry #LyricalSonnets
