A Cradle
Sleep, little heart; the night seals every door And cups the world within its velvet hush; The Luna forgets her age, leans low once more, To hear your breath undo the stars’ old rush. I gather dreams where olive shadows kneel, Where seas rehearse their youth in whispered blue; Your pulse becomes the law the heavens feel, Your eyes, two lamps the dark is passing through. All wandering things grow still around your rest, Even time unbinds his sandals, slow and kind; Love folds the world like bread against my chest, And feeds my fear into your sleeping mind. Sleep, gold and ruby crown your kind head; My kiss shall guard you till the dawn is wed. ------Poet Affaq #Sonnet #ForeverSonnets #SonnetPoetry #PoetAffaq Enjoy this sweet lyric below Spring of Beauty
