A happy breeze that brings me cheer

Image
When you’re absent, darkness does descend, And all the world's delight does lose its shine. My days, make a plea to you so befriend My nights, once peaceful, now are troubled mine. Your breath, a happy breeze that brings me cheer, Your presence, sunshine that lights up my way. Your love, a rhythm that takes away my fear In you, my dear, I do find my peaceful day. For in this fleeting life, I am a brief guest, Why should we not entwine our hearts in love? I'll cherish every moment we share and rest, In your embrace, my sweet, I find my dove. So come, dear love, and let us close the gap, For without you, all joys do shrink and sap. © Poet Affaq  2024/ All rights reserved

The Ashes Of Affection

Image
All that mine held is now yours in every way, At times by kisses, by closeness, fleeting touch, At times by distance, heartless as winter's day, Or through displeases, pain that clings so much. Your memories penned on pages white and still, Morn's yawning light, or vesper’s solemn shade, Within heart your uniqueness lingers still, No distrust, nor bitter musings from us displayed. Ah! return and see what yet remains in me, Reckon these graves of lovers lost to silent seas, Whose vows and promises now dust shall be, As the fleeting lies upon the fickle breeze. When love, like wizardry, fades, slips from sight, Its grip is gone, and we yield to endless night. © Poet Affaq   2024 all rights reserved
