The world's swift ending
Heavenly words, a shadowed doom foretold,
The earthly bonds, like brittle glass, shall break.
Daughters, with scorn, their mothers' age enfold,
And servile tasks their weary spirits will take.
Competition's sting, a venomous, sharp dart,
Shall pierce the heart therein gentle graces lay.
Luck's fickle smile, a hollow, barren art,
While reverence and honor shall fade away.
The nation's wealth, by grasping hands defiled,
A plundered prize for those in power's sway.
Greed's hungry maw, whereupon truth is exiled,
And envy does steal the glare and light of day.
Oh, these fashions reign, a swift and bitter tide,
And thus, the world's swift ending does abide.
