By the solitary Oak

Image
Whilst in my quiet abyss, I glanced to see Your bosom, cold as winter's sickest breeze. Ah, see my loyalty, unshaken, stood by thee, Despite life's setbacks, which like snarling seas Did rage and roar, after that calm and cease. And in your eyes, like sapphire, I thought to find My peace, my jubilant joy, my heart's release. But you, O disloyal friend, did prove a tease. Your vows, like sunset leaves, withered and faded, And in my eager eyes, your love did dwell. For me, a monastic life the nature portrayed— I’m so grateful, I breathe, and all is still well. Under the shade of this solitary oak, I pour My plaint, and seek repose in heaven's roar. ©Poet Affaq

The Putunua Paradox

Image
In public, you profess your faith with ease, But privately, your scornful words reveal, It's your duplicity, or a mask to please, Your heart, distant from the truth, it conceals. Would you prefer to be a wilted bloom Or a petunias that attracts the papillons? Obscure feelings may injure you; set a plan To reshape your passion and visions. The beauty that you wear is of no worth To me; review your inner ambitions. Mere beauty is not; your attributes will go forth To plead your lawsuit, and take this huge leap That which you gaze at day to day is an illusion, And too deep; amazing, you are an alien. © Poet Affaq

Ah, when you believe and do the great, You may have the gardens of bliss, triumph Be ever at your back, can prove a dark horse, Or if you grow self-centered, you’ll be a chump. Make joy and sorrow a part of your routine, Dwell saintly, forget not you’re a stranger. Sing honestly life's melody like a Robin serene, Oh, you may, but be not a tough entertainer. If you believe, or this rhyme will go in vain. The heaven itself tells the same allegory, Springs best born flowers repeat same pain, Time doesn't allow me to pen complete story.  True perfume comes from the flower wreath, Best approach is to instill morality in your youth. ® Affaq

Some claim that love is above all things

Image
Some claim that love's above all things; You walked through sorrow's sullen veil, The garden faded, flowers lost their might; And stream lamented; hazes began to fail, You left us dismayed afar in spring's delight. May be, spring's return to heart we couldn't trace, The world did part us in sorrow's sharp shade, And legs lingered to chase triumph’s race, Longing to relish sunshine more days fairly fade. For livelihood, the pain outshines love's plea, In hunger's grasp, what worth is love's embrace? Our wars for sustenance stole love’s glee,  To heavenward steps’re rising with silent pace. Some claim that love's above all things; it’s true. Then why the delay, if it’s so, permit entry? © Poet Affaq

A call to awake

Image
In booths, you've spent your years, it seems, But what fruits have these ballots truly brought? O, bliss! cost of living reached to its extremes  Has change shaped your aspirations or not? And I recall, as a child, when I saw you then, Patiently waiting all day, hopeful, in that den, For secure shelter, work, and aid in your dire need. And waiting with a yearning with spirit to win. In freedom's name, your plight remains unknown, As promises dissolve in mists of regrets and fears. Pity, no job to feed, no house to call your own, Your sea of suffering, fall silent on deaf ears. Awake, dear voter, seize your power's might, For in your hands lies destiny's sincere light. , ©Affaq
