The Waves (Lyrical Video)

And you ask me when I shall return to you!

How can the wave decide the sea’s own hour?

My inner self leans toward heaven’s hue,

A reed bent singing in His lurking power.

I’ll come when rain remembers how to fall,

When ponds bloom with moving breaths of gold,

And shore-birds praise the zephyr till fear turns small,

When storms forget the sidewalks they controlled.

Be patient, Pumpkin; waiting is a better prayer;

The seed knows sullen before it learns the sun.

I do walk where the rapture holds me unaware—

And a moth still circling till the glow is won.

When Love permits, we’ll draw life’s boat as one,

And dearest find we met before the world begun.
