Near Temptation's fire

In life's fierce fray, I quest for truth's lead,
Devoid this frame, world’s like a lifeless moor.
Within your moonglow, my visions might spread;
If you be not beside me, all seems obscure.
O, jealousy’s domain, the mercy's call ignored,
Amidst chains of woe, freedom's song wane.
No eden found where once with fate I'd prance,
Near temptation's fire we lost in disdain.
Humanity’s ashamed below greed's weight.
“Progress” they tout, yet greed’s their compass.
Truth is trampled down by envy and hate;
Oh, hope is less; the rest is mere harass.
Those who dare resistance face the crown—
Suffer ramifications or be overthrown.
