Dear Heart...

What perturbs your once serene state

That now keeps you restless and discontent? 

I have followed the stream to the ocean deep,

I have scaled in vain the rocky mountain peak.

I have soared the vast awesome starry skies  

I have summoned all the musical birdies

To enthrall you with their dulcet melodies.

I have listened to whispers of the gentle breeze.

What wise words would the sages say

That mundane miseries and fears allay?

What wondrous  words must the poet speak

To lift you up and make a delightful leap? 

Oh...

Had I known that a heart needs another heart, 

No  needless queries would have been asked,

No  journeys would have been  made so very far;

For your other half will find you where you are.
