An unsent Letter

Yesterday, in the purple evening's lucent light,

I sat upon my veranda, a highly pleasant sight.

To write you a brief letter, melodic and sweet,

But feelings rushed in, disrupting my seat.

A caravan of emotions, deceptive and wild,

Then my soul adrift, as like a restless child.

Every thought obedient, in your amore glow,

A starry night passed inside your passion’s flow.

As morning's light broke, with its insistent call,

The dawn chorus sang, bidding me to recall,

"It's time to awaken, day's burdens to bear,

No longer you are a child, with worries to spare.

Beset by concerns, life's weight on your head,

Golden days gone, their memories fled.

Still their shadows linger, inside your pensive gaze,

A reminder of the past, within morning's haze."
